Not entirely sure the stylistic swings are exactly necessitated by the story here, but I have not felt gripped like this since the last time I rewatched Lambs!
Definitely seeking out Wright’s first & eagerly anticipating his next ✌🏻
Definitely templated from All the Presidents Men, down to grappling with the hurdle of maintaining narrative tension in a story that audiences already know the ending to. It’s to Maria Schrader’s credit that this grips for as long as it does, even quickening its pace to great effect during its final stretch (a surprising quality of any movie as of late).
