“I didn’t expect it to hurt so much”

Neither did I. I never do. Wong Kar Wai’s sensual masterpiece still manages to sweep the rug from underneath me and engulf me in his beautifully realized worlds that he creates so effortlessly and expertly. I’ve watched this film 5 times now and it hasn’t lost one iota of its initial impact - quite contrary actually seeing as it only gets MORE emotionally affecting every time I see it. It is undoubtedly…

Still perfect. Still my favorite film.

Still some of the best acting, directing, editing, cinematography, production design and writing ever out to screen. Still marvel at every single second of this film. Still feel emotionally drained by the ending. Still holds a very special place in my heart - now made even more special due to the very special person I watched it with :)

Finally crossed this (terrific) documentary off my watchlist, more than a year after I watched Welles’ swan song (and arguably his magnum opus). What an incredible insight into the madness of the creative process of the ultimate transgressive cinematic maverick. I’m sure there’s liberties taken here, but the footage shown with the commentary provided make for a strangely potent exploration of filmmaking in relation to a much more personal narrative of loneliness and betrayal.

I’m sure Welles would hate this…

Very generous yet peculiar gesture by Cannes to award the Palme D’Or to Parasite again. Though honestly, for a while I thought I’d accidentally started watching Don't Look Up 2.

That summarizes a bit how I feel. Credit where credit is due, the film is rather well directed, occasionally beautiful to look at, and the cast does a rather stellar job with what they’re given. There are also some genuinely hilarious moments and some very clever gags (though brought down…

Thought about stirring up some controversy so eh why not

This sucked balls on every aspect. Bad music aside with subpar vocals and cheesy lyricism, the actual “film” isn’t worth much either with its mediocre presentation and second grade visual storytelling. The one spoken segment in the middle is the character named Her (yes, HER) throwing a tantrum because He (yes, HE) didn’t act exactly how she wanted him to act at like some fucking house party and it’s childish…
