    Utterly fascinating because if it was made today it would be a for sure Oscar contender. Stone doesn’t really make sense of Bush in the context of America the same way he did for Nixon. I think it’s partially because he has too much reverence for George H.W. Bush and Colin Powell for not assassinating Saddam Hussein (a popular liberal opinion when this film was made). Anyway, Brolin does a very good job and this shit is nuanced compared to Adam McKay.
