honestly speechless.
I watched this when it came out, and it seemed not that very long ago, but the way my experience watching it now feels so distant to that 23yo guy who understood nothing about what was going on here, has honestly messed me up. as in it is 1am, I finished two hours ago, and I expect zero sleep for at least another couple more hours.

I wish I could've enjoyed it more, but for all the dry cuteness and brilliant tragicomedy bits, there was just as many stale, quiet scenes bordering on lethargy.
Obviously respectable as a stylistic choice, and personal signature of Kaurismäki, but I'm a very basic bitch when it comes to romance. I just need cheap emotions pouring through the screen.
