• V/H/S/94

the subject is by far the best one, probably out of all the vhs films. it felt like a damn video game. when she got that power up for her arm + the music that followed…damn can timo cook!!!

  • Dorohedoro

this anime is so weird, wacky and trippy, i love it. it’s so different and dystopian with so many likeable and unique characters. the set design just claws for my attention. i love this style of atmosphere.
at first i wasn’t big on the animation, despite liking the art style, but i got used to it. the character design is really cool and the fact that masks have significance makes it better.
i also like that the anime has different…

  • Deadpool 2

    Deadpool 2

haven’t seen this since it came out and honestly it was a lot better than i remember.
i love being reminded of why deadpool is one of my favorite marvel characters. definitely my top 3 marvel characters.
ryan IS deadpool. he works damn near perfect with anyone he shares the screen with.
his chemistry with brolin is hilarious and i hope we see him come back for the 3rd one.
however, one of my small nitpicks is how lazy the…

  • Logan

this is still my #1 cbm. it never gets old.
the forest scene will forever be one of favorite climaxes in the cbm genre. just seeing logan go all out one last time always gets me.
he also has an amazing character arc that’s topped off with his final words “don’t be what they made you.” and “so this is what it feels like.”
it’s the perfect sendoff and i don’t think it’ll be topped for a long time.

  • The Batman

    The Batman

still the best batman movie to date.
i can’t even begin to explain how much i love this gotham. it feels so dark and real, like…people actually live in it!!! it doesn’t feel like a hollow cgi set design with npc’s, like how most cbm’s are.
there’s a whole universe they can build with this gotham and i’m excited to see it unfold.
batman has THE BEST rogue gallery so there’s A LOT they can do and a lot of storylines…

  • Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne

    Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne

a dark and sometimes very disturbing anime. that’s not bad tho, i actually like when writers push the envelope.
that said, the show does lose a little steam towards the end as it kinda strays away from the detective elements that drew me in to begin with and focuses more on the fantasy side.
    nonetheless, it was enjoyable.

  • All Quiet on the Western Front

All Quiet on the Western Front

a beautiful film with some intense and scary battle sequences. my biggest complaint though is how slow paced the movie can be. could've been a little shorter

  • She and Her Cat: Everything Flows

She and Her Cat: Everything Flows

i love cats and for some reason, i wanted to make myself cry. it’s hard to expect viewers to be invested in only four episodes with 7min runtimes, but wow it reeled me in. not sure if it’s because i’m a cat person or because i’m easily emotional when it comes to media.
either way it was a cute, wholesome story about Daru in the last days of his life who reflects on all the important things he remembers. really…
