Almost 170 minutes of pure insanity action-packed set sequences. Keanu Reeves is 58 and Donnie Yen is 59… and together they had one of my favorite action sequences in the genre when they first fought. Caine is easily my favorite character in the series besides JW himself. Pure adrenaline and threat even with plot armor, that’s how you get away with it, by being good at filmmaking. Beau Is Afraid 2023
Truly felt like I was in Ari Aster’s head. Anxiety-inducing fueled nightmare. The worst that could happen to Beau, happened. In fear cause he has no control of what his life serves him. A director will make a 3 hour art project with all of his possible nightmares across the screen. Indeed a nightmare comedy. Lots of standout moments. What blew me away was some of the most amazing shots on camera. Joaquin Phoenix rowing the boat across the sea at night. What a beautiful dark twisted movie that could’ve only come from Ari Aster. Bill Hader’s cameo lol.
