Ti West made one goddamn fucked up horror picture. X is what a slasher movie should be. Gory, horrific and comedic. A love letter to the slasher genre. A stellar cast that resembles the 70s perfectly. Mia Goth is a fucking star and I can’t get enough of her. The performances, cinematography, editing and sound design were flawless. Can’t believe West filmed the prequel right after X. He’s already planning out the sequel too. The man made his own new original IP. The first film series franchise for A24? Horror fans will have a blast with X.

I’ve seen this a few times before I had letterboxd. This would be my eighth time watching Hereditary. I first saw this amazing movie back with my friends in June 2018. The beginning gave everyone creepy vibes and from that one scene, everyone gasped in theaters. No one made a sound or a word till it was over. Even when it was over, we just sat for a little bit before anyone said anything or moved. Ari Aster is already one…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

It’s quite something to see Malcolm McDowell jump around like a vicious cat.  That’s what cinema is about.

A cat cult? My kind of cult.

  • Blonde

    Blonde

Blonde is one long torture porn made for the incels. Surely it’s well shot and well acted, but the execution from the director is in entirely bad faith and lifeless. I got absolutely nothing out of this movie. Anyone that knows me knows I love bleak films, when they’re done right. Some people are going to watch only for the unnecessary explicit sex scenes and nudity. Full on long boring sex scenes that adds nothing to the story. For something incredibly fictionalized, why do we have all of these creepy-ass directed scenes that aren’t true about a real person’s life?

Movie gets worse the more I think about it.

    Thor: Love and Thunder

Love and Thunder felt like a rough cut. A really ROUGH cut. Missing scenes to fit into the puzzle, but were replaced by unfunny and unappealing scenes. A rough mess. A weak attempt at gay rep considering Taika said this movie is “super gay.” Maybe super gay in Marvel/Disney standards. Christian Bale played as one of the better MCU villains. I like the character King Valkyrie, but we should let a different director and writers make better usage of her…
