Cinema_Strikes’s review published on Letterboxd:
Sadly mediocre. Heavily derivative of Guy Ritchie’s work, full of bog standard Japan fetishism, and not nearly funny enough or action-packed enough to justify its extended running time (why were the fights so weak?), but amusing enough to while away an 80 degree summer afternoon. My wife, who watches less of this sort of thing, enjoyed it though - honestly, that's main reason I was generous and gave this 3 stars, instead of 2 1/2.
Karen Fukuhara and Andrew Koji are criminally wasted, but Joey King is a ton of fun (she’s having a hell of a year with this and The Princess) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a blast too. Tons of good cameos here.
