Episode 54 of the Cineflek podcast is out now!!
I might instantly regret saying this, but this movie makes me long for more midlife crisis movies. It’s a great setup, having a guy who’s stuck in the monotony of his daily life, and needs to make a big change, though it’s likely none of them would be handled with as much care as this one.
I feel like I get more out of it on a rewatch. Oddly this is very much a hangout movie, and it’s nice to revisit such complex and interesting characters. Despite being in a different country, they felt like people I could know, especially the groups of teachers at your high school that are friends outside of school.
