  Missing 2023

  While losing much of its novelty (watching SEARCHING for the first time was so much fun, with all that concept being thrown at you the first time around), this film still gave a worthy enough second ride, thanks to (another) clever script which again, on par with the best thriller made by Denis Villeuneuve or David Fincher. 

  Also as someone who are coming from a third world country, it’s fun to see Whatsapp get the recognition that it deserves. 😂

  Genuinely surprised with how good this film was. Way beyond your typical Indonesia horror movie. Relying less on gore, cheap thrills, and “penampakan” and more on mood and ambience. Probably our first “elevated horror”? I am no Indo movie scene expert, you tell me.
