I fucking did it. I finished my MCU rewatch and with 2 hours to spare before I go see IW.
As far as this movie goes some things haven’t aged well. Some of the dialogue felt unnatural, the tunes used didn’t give me that same magic feeling as the first, too much humor that didn’t work, and while I dug the storyline with Ego, a lot of the execution didn’t really hit for me. Don’t feel like getting into why. Even the planet and the design was too CG and felt fake opposed to the first one which everything felt very lived in.

But I still love this movie because it’s so damn fun. More importantly I love these characters and their arcs so much more because of this movie. Everything with Yondu which climaxed with his sacrifice and funeral was perfect and it makes me cry every damn time. One of my favorite moments in all of the MCU.
This Marathon has been a journey and I really have come to love and connect with these characters so much more. Now for the big one. Infinity War. I mustered up all my willpower and managed to not watch any trailers for this. I’m going almost completely blind with no idea what will happen. I’m excited. I’m nervous. Mainly I’m just fucking happy and feeling so blessed I live in a time that these movies exist and I get to see them on opening fucking day.
