i teared up a few times while i was watching this because i felt so disturbed, but i underestimated the full impact hereditary would have on me afterwards. i slept intermittently last night. at 5 am i fully woke up but couldn't move, not because i was experiencing sleep paralysis, but because i was still so frightened and anxious so many hours later. this is rare for me, but a film that is largely about trauma and loss was bound to get under my skin.
