Kyle 🏳️⚧️ Tamburrino’s review published on Letterboxd:
Paris is Burning is a powerful and heartbreaking documentary, and a historical look on the culture of Drag. It was really fascinating watching this documentary and having it feel like ancient history even though it only took place ten years before I was born. The subjects of the film are all so powerful and brave, and it’s heartbreaking hearing them all describe their life’s difficulties, and the prejudices and struggles they endure just for living life as themselves. A really beautiful and touching piece, and a super great time capsule for an underrepresented and super important community. Venus Xtravaganza deserves so much more than she got and is easily one of the most brave and powerful women to ever exist.
