This film is filled to the rim with nostalgia. It's clearly a made-for-TV special, but you can feel the magic. I cannot stand the Cinderella story, but this is an exception for me. Brandy plays the titular character so well, and Whitney does a great job of singing on a green screen for a majority of the movie.
This is one of those movies where the entire cast is diverse, and while they didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the biology of skin color, it's still a nice and rare thing to see.
