I love movies and I guess I was bored in quarantine, so here I am.
John Wick for cat guys.
Yes, sure it's an Impotent Dad-Rage Revenge Fantasy and that's *kind of troubling*, but what you also have to realize is that it's also Bob Odenkirk kicking large amounts of ass. And that goes a long, long, long way.
Anyway it's on HBO now and I'm mostly just glad he didn't die last year.
I mean, when he walks out holding the painting!? C'mon now!
An extremely well art-directed tale of violence, betrayal and sword-swinging with a vague sense of cold detachment? What is this, The Green Knight!? But seriously, that would be a good double feature.
Unarmed Macbeth fight has better choreography than a lot of action movies.
Horror imagery very well done. Give Kathryn Hunter Best Supporting now. Or at least like, a Fangoria award.
Even Shakespeare knew it’s best to keep shit under 2 hours
If you can’t enjoy this for what it is and the sheer amount of stuff it *does*, then I dunno what to tell you. Try to stay out of the discourse about what it means for cinema or whatever. You can see big huge shit like this and then go watch Licorice Pizza the next day, and nobody is stopping you. I know because I am doing that! We really can have it all if we want.
