Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022
I legitimately loved a lot of this especially for the first hour but honestly by the time I was a couple hours in I was just begging for it to end already. Way too much. Sorry to be a party pooper, it was just kind of overwhelming. Probably would have preferred a straightforward story about these characters going through a rough patch financially and emotionally in their singleverse.

The Silence of the Lambs 1991
One of those movies that I waited too long to watch so that I was hyper-aware the whole time that my viewing experience was altered by preconceived notions and references. It is great and I thought it was great, but I also think I had too high of expectations for it to be something completely transcendent and unexpected and what I got was a movie that I essentially feel like I’d seen before even though I hadn’t. Obviously (but I’ll say it anyway) it’s got great performances and is brilliantly shot.

The Little Mermaid 1989
Never saw it as a kid because it felt most explicitly like “the one for girls” which really is a shame. Obviously it’s hard not to be aware of a lot of it, especially the music, but it all really held up. Might this be the best Disney soundtrack? Anyway, obviously overdue but I loved it.
