CharlesYang’s review published on Letterboxd:
There's no possible way for me to rate this film.
On one hand, there was a time in which I thought this was the greatest movie ever. Bill and Ted were gods. And that this was the absolute peak of cinema.
Looking back on it now, I am aware of it's vast imperfections. Flaws so plentiful and so obvious to any one with a working pair of eyes and operational brain cells, that I will not bother listing them here.
My feelings are split down the middle.
It harkens back to my days of idealism. Idealism so hopelessly naive that it bordered on downright stupid.
With older eyes, it embarrasses me deep down inside as to why I held the Bill and Ted Films with such majestic awe. But there are times I can see why I fell madly in love with franchise to begin with.
Rock n roll was cool. Time travel was cool. The whole concept was cool. But after seeing so many films and experiencing way better movies, this one kinda feels lacking.
To put this simply....
Younger Me: 5 star review
Greatest film ever. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are the coolest dude bros of all time.
