Kong: Skull Island

Kong: Skull Island ★★★½

It's pretty good - it's got a fun 90's no nonsense action film vibe... With light touches that don't make it super serious. It starts off strong with a good action scene with Kong - but everything after felt like it dragged a bit. Not that it wasn't entertaining in parts - it's just wasn't Kong doing Kong stuff.

I liked Sammy Jackson having issues with being a career military man in a losing war. I like Tom Hiddlehugs and Brie Larson - but I'm not sure about their characters - they just felt there - not much more than there... Some of the CG was beautiful - some not so much. I liked those two legged crocodile monsters. Let's see.... Hmm... Yeh - pretty good but not too much more than a few good action scenes....

And every cliche early 70's song you could imagine - with two of my all time favorite tracks Ziggy Stardust by Bowie and Down on the Street by The Stooges thrown in for good measure.
