Casey Malone’s review published on Letterboxd:
Having lived through the Shrekification and subsequent glorification and decline of Pixar, I cannot tell you how fucking good it feels to have Sony of all studios out there making stuff that is smart, funny, and pushing the medium forward in interesting ways. They're giving creatives so much fucking freedom that you get stuff like Spider-Verse, Hotel Transylvania (which has the Shrek problems plot and cast wise, but lets Genndy Tartakovsky break new ground in 3D animation) and now this. Absolutely loved it.
-1 Star for giving more work to notorious creep Fred Armisen, still managed to hit five stars.
