Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Uh oh. This did not hold up on rewatch. Despite the amount of stuff in this movie that is a lot of fun and very distinctly weird, knowing where the film ends up going made me realize just how much stuff in this movie doesn’t go anywhere thematically and narratively. There are plot points and thematic concepts that just don’t ever get resolved or get brushed under the carpet. You can’t just assume that people will find your movie deep…

  • Top Gun

    Top Gun

Jesus, I knew this movie was gonna have gay undertones, but I did NOT expect every character to suck Tom Cruise’s dick so hard the entire time.

  • Good Morning

    Good Morning

This movie had so much farting in it, I began to think it was a Robert Eggars film. Very respectable.

  • Sing 2

    Sing 2

Is it possible to be surprised by a film for how unsurprising it was?

  • Johnny Mnemonic

    Johnny Mnemonic

“You’re not on the menu. But you can still do something me… say goodbye!”

How can a movie be so bad with writing this GOOD?

  • Sleepy Hollow

    Sleepy Hollow

I feel like the writers realized they had a really generic mystery plot with no hook, so they sorta just slapped the sleepy hollow theming on hastily and called up Tim Burton to do all the heavy lifting to cover up the fact that it’s still the most generic shit ever with a really hastily done sleepy hollow overlay on top. Tho I do appreciate this being Burton’s most violent film. Always fun to see him branch out a bit.

  • Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion

Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion

    Pink Floyd’s Neon Genesis Evangelion

Also Ik it’s cliche to say this made the original better, but ya it kinda did. I hate being predictable. I still have problems, but this wrapped things up better than I expected. Also weirdly hornier than I expected.

  • The Worst Person in the World

The Worst Person in the World

“Sometimes, I just want to feel things.”

I want this movie to be there with me through life, so I can check in with it at my lowest moments to remind me just how messed up we can feel and still find ways to be happy. I knew I’d love this, but this is a whole other level. Unreal.

  • WALL·E

All of the human characters in this look like Gusteau from Ratatouille and I find that very funny. Also rewatched this on the plane back from Florida, sad that vacation is over but excited cuz WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD IS ON HULU NOW WOOOOOOOOO

  • The Young Girls of Rochefort

    The Young Girls of Rochefort

I love that we’ve been saying “ya know people were so much more romantic back in the day” since like the beginning of time. Can’t wait for the future where people look back on our booty anthems and be like “cmon why can’t we be as romantic as we were back then??” Movie is still a masterpiece btw

Also I rewatched this on the way to Florida for vacation, so I prolly won’t be watching much until I get back on the 18th. I’ll miss y’all 😘

  • How I Live Now

    How I Live Now

I started to think Saoirse Ronan’s character in this was secretly Hanna with the amount of survival shit that this random angsty teenager suddenly knows when the war part breaks out. Also WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A WAR PORTION OF THIS COMING OF AGE DRAMA??? This isn’t Your Name god dammit.

  • Neon Genesis Evangelion

    Neon Genesis Evangelion

No wonder you Letterboxd nerds love this show so much. Y’all saw Shinji and were like “omg he’s literally me.”
