obsessed with how bad decoteau is at making action movies, but this and deadly embrace are some of my favorite efforts of his because his skill at chill vibe hanging out with boobs and beefy hunks and occasional murder just doesn't translate well to this convoluted thriller type thing, and it's both fascinating and endearing. this was truly a delight, and one of the clearest cases for why he is so good at lifetime movies, as this is essentially lifetime death wish - evil men, sexual violence, suspicious stepdad who drugs his wife and wants to steal her money, wayward troubled woman who reedems herself, so many soap opera cliches transformed into a gritty revenge tale in a seedy sun drenched california. love this!!
