La La Land 2016
lovely and warm and bright... this movie feels like someone pulling you along by the hand and turning to look back at you with the biggest smile on their face and so much love in their eyes

Elvis 2022
i know i should have watched this in theaters but i didn't want to spend my precious discount tuesday watching Biopic about Guy I don’t Care About. so here we are. it was fun but honestly it takes a lot for a biopic to really wow me these days. this one makes some odd decisions regarding the legacy of elvis and his thieving ways but it was cool to look at. austin was cute i get why he kept that accent now!

Triangle of Sadness 2022
good and fun and i liked it and i especially liked (hated but in a good way) being made so physically uncomfortable, but a lot of this fell flat for me. it was just really preachy and really cynical and only a few characters made it worth watching. sorry to cannes i don’t think i have enough high brow taste to fully appreciate this movie!

The Banshees of Inisherin 2022
kind of a downer! i think what's hitting me most as i sit with the film is the inevitability of its conclusion. the story and characters feel crafted in such a precise way that of course it ends up how it does... and that really sucks! awesome movie i feel like i’m gonna throw up
