• Expend4bles

    Expend4bles

    ★★★½

equally one of the most trashy yet fun movies of the year. the CGI and green screen in this movie is some of the most baffling I’ve seen in recent memory but if I’m being frank I don’t really care. If I’m going to see an Expendables movie I wanna see dumb shit. nothing makes sense, the dialogue is stupid 80% of the time but the charm is that you can tell everyone’s having a great time. sure, let’s stop WWIII, an Avengers level threat more like an Expendables level threat. I’ll happily take 5 more of these movies.

    There’s no us without him

finally got to watch this on the big screen and it felt magical, the way it was meant to be seen. this trilogy that Zack made I will ever be so grateful for. the overall craft and characters have so much depth and it all feels so personal. I know these iterations of the characters in this way have come to an end but I’m forever thankful for what we got and what we’ll always…

You were never a god. You were never even a man.

will always have such immense passion and love for these movies. I still think Affleck’s performances in these movies are some of my favorite of the comic book genre period, the ending of this still makes me cry…

  • Strawberry Mansion

    ★★

very well done on so many levels, lots of cool scenes but it never truly grabbed me the way I expected idk. personally think it would’ve been a better short film, check out Audley and Birney’s Sylvio I much preferred that!

  • The Nun II

    The Nun II

    ★½

I felt like a five year old thriving around in my seat because I was so incredibly bored. some dude burped really loud during the climax and I was nearly crying of laughter I couldn’t contain myself. post credit scene is amazing un-ironically best part of the movie.

  • Man of Steel

great as always. love love love the depiction of Krypton in this movie and Russell Crowe is so good. the flight scene still amazes me to this day and I still believe this is maybe Hans Zimmer’s best work. great to watch on a big screen again for the first time in a decade.

  • Gummo

so incredibly hard to watch, just as disturbing as the other times I’ve seen it. still one of the greatest depictions of the evil and disgusting sides of society though. I don’t think a movie has captured the real life horrors and pain better. so sad, not for the faint of heart. and very hard to sit through, needed to take a break this time around.

  • The Equalizer 3

a nice little movie, I enjoyed watching Denzel settle into this wholesome small Italian town and occasionally brutally kill Italian monsters. sometimes that’s what going to the cinema is all about.

  • Bottoms

Emma Seligman just popped off with one of the most balls to the walls insane raunchy comedies I’ve ever seen. one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a minute, great performances and lots of unexpected moments as well.

Bart the Bear’s performance was incredible, he and Sir Anthony worked off each other so well

hands down best experience watching this movie.

amazed that Christopher Nolan managed to ensemble maybe the best ensemble film of the generation. not a single bad performance in my opinion, even the smallest of small roles manage to deliver an incredible moment.

also even on the 4th watch, the trinity sequence still manages to be one of the most immersive, exciting, and stressful sequences in a film in recent memory.
