My Friend Dahmer

My Friend Dahmer ★★★★

“I like bones, it interest me, what’s inside.”
What an engaging look into Jeffrey Dahmers early life. This film is very unsettling at times, but that doesn’t take away from the story. Like I said with my review earlier today about The Witch, this films set design is very well done and it looks very esthetically similar to the late 70s and early 80s, and that helps the story to me tremendously. The cinematography is very well done in this film as well; the movie is filled with remarkably lit and beautiful shots. Very well acted too, from Dahmer to his parents. Ross Lynch gives a breathtaking performance really nailing the posture and mannerisms of Dahmer. I really come to respect him in this role, being a pop singer and former disney star, he knew going into this that it would be a risky role for him, but he takes it by the balls and shows up and shows out. I look forward to seeing him in more stuff in the future; and I recommend this film if you are interested in the early life of Jeffrey Dahmer.
