This is the first time I've ever watched this in full. The ending is a bit too abrupt and I guess it is a more 'slight' entry into the Ghibli catalogue, but I thoroughly enjoyed it especially for the sweetness, the lovable antics of Jiji, and the themes of reigniting inspiration and growing up. And the music here is particularly beautiful. It's really weird how Ghibli films haven't gotten a single Oscar nomination for Joe Hisaishi's work.
I think this might put me in the mood for a double bill of Ghibli later on.
