a spin-off on the ladies of the salon. 💅🏽

    A Quiet Place

Emily has this calming effect on me since the first scene that had me thinking how great ot would have been to have  her and John as parents... just puts me at ease.

this just feels like the little i die that could. what i love is it’s simple storytelling. what makes up the film is all the other elements working together giving 100%.

those stairs to the basement always have me gasping.

  • Cruella

was able to sneak in, jajaja. got right into the part where Estella starts working at that horrid boutique shop.

  • A Quiet Place Part II

    A Quiet Place Part II

great nods to the first film. the cast superb. the 3 climaxes at the same time... 💥. the action does fall when Regan & Emmett have a moment when they get to the island, but it’s only minutes.

Krasinski really outdid outdid himself, there were some great shots. and how he brought those moments of tension... the man is skilled!!! the sound department and the cinematography *chef’s kiss*

the performances from Noah Jupe, Millicent Simmonds & Emily Blunt... superb.

    Marvin's Room

aaawww! so cute! Keaton, Streep & DiCaprio giving a performance waaay beyond his age... a delight of a film. 👌🏽

The United States vs. Billie Holiday

this wasn’t as bad as people lead it on to be. the problem is the script. there was no coherence and displaying the dates only added more to the confusion. there were a lot of inconsistencies, mainly with the “backbone” of the film which was the interview that only popped on two times. despite all of this Andra Day gives THE performance. she pulled all the right moves of a seasoned actor. how she pulled it off? well... she has the voice, she had the guts, and she got the skills. Ms. Day is an actor who can sing, not the the other way around.

    The Human Voice

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

    i’m what’s burning, darling.

i was taken right away with the Dogville set. 💚 then the camera pans to the set’s art direction that just screams Almodóvar. then Swinton starts organizing her blu-ray collection, all great picks. when suddenly an emotional Swinton connects her AirPods...
    i👏🏽was 👏🏽floored!!!👏🏽

at first i found Swinton’s line delivery kind of odd, but in the end you realize it is no gimmick... the short welcomes the theatricality of the situation Swinton’s character is in. this is definitely…

way before grandma arrives i noticed that i had a misconception of what America or USA is/represents... obviously my ignorance stems from what i learned in school from the history books, watched on films and tv, etc. i always had the perception that it was caucasian biased and a red-neck type of narrative. when in fact, thanks to this film, i was mistaken.

America does not consist of the white people who inhabit it or wrongfully remark to all immigrants…

    The Father

was pleasantly surprised by the film’s approach, one is never on the outside looking in. which makes the film’s first person view all the more entertaining.

i greatly admire Lamprinos work, editing this must have been a headache and yet through the purposeful maze you are not entirely lost. my only fault was with the directing, too bland. in experienced hands this would have been, for my taste, a nail-biting thriller passing as drama.

tho, kudos for the great adaption…

    The Out-of-Towners

was really in the mood for a Goldie Hawn flick... fit the bill perfectly, as always she infuses her brand perfectly with charisma and terrific comedic timing. Steve Martin, i could do without.

as with the times... few offensive jokes.

    27 years. 💚

    whaaa, this is a remake?!!!
