I usually steer clear of "based on a true story" movies but this had been so widely praised, and the two leads are so impressive that I decided to check it out.

I loved it! It looks great, the score is really cool, and the performances are fascinating. It occurred to me while I was watching this that a major theme of contemporary Black-themed films is the precarity of personal identity: besides this one, I count Sorry To Bother You, BlackKKLansman, Us, Get Out...
