  Children always have a way of escaping tragedy by turning it into a game to cope. Like if a civil war breaks out? "Woo! No school!"

  But when reality gets too morbid, things get sour really fast.

  Elegantly blends themes of religion, social & political commentary, comedy, romance, drama, and coming of age. What a fucking ride. It's definitely not consistent, but I'll be damned if this important film is not worth the watch.
