The world's most beautiful city direct from the eyes of a real flaneur, Chantal Akerman's impossibly poignant urban decay porn is pure perfection. Here is every nostalgic pleasure I wring from stuff like Downtown 81 and Permanent Vacation minus the partially realized pseudo-narrative underpinning. Can I just inject this film into my veins? It's the day after my mom's birthday.
