    Who's Singin' Over There?

    December Rewatches 2/31

Still one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, but I have to say, it's starting to lean more and more towards a full-blown tragedy with every rewatch. Maybe it's the inevitability of the ending or maybe it's just one of those movies that seems to adapt to the viewers current headspace and whatnot. In any case, it's definitely a timeless masterpiece!

  • "Sr."

Wow, this really was a pleasant surprise. I was kinda expecting something unremarkable or cliche, but instead it ended up becoming maybe even my favorite documentary of the year, or at the very least the most enjoyable one. You know what I mean, this was genuinely fun to watch and I almost never feel this way about docs. Also, I need to watch some of Sr.'s early films as soon as possible! The humor seems to be right up my alley.

    December Rewatches 1/31

So I thought I'd try something fun this month and just rewatch some of my all time favorites, one each day if the schedule allows (side note: these are probably gonna be mostly incoherent/nostalgic ramblings rather than meaningful reviews, because I feel neither the need nor desire to overanalyze these beloved masterpieces).

And what better way to start than with what was basically the first movie that utterly blew my mind, if memory serves me some time…

    Twin Peaks

Lately I've been watching way too much random shit I didn't even care about, so I've decided to change the pace a bit and spend some time in the wonderful town of Twin Peaks this week. I've already made my way through the first season last night and this morning and the one thing in particular that struck me this time around is just how brilliant the mix of comedy and tragedy is. You never can tell whether you're gonna laugh or cry in the next scene, but you're always completely on board with it. Long story short, still the best TV show of all time!
