Evil Dead Rise 2023
If your movie has crazy creative kills/violence, doesnβt take itself TOO seriously, and commits to having as much bloodshed as humanly possible, I WILL be a fan. It also helps that itβs an Evil Dead movie with a final girl. Staffanie is still one of the most iconic parts of this movie.

Molly's Game 2017
This story is incredibly fascinating and Jessica Chastain does a fantastic job of bringing it to life, although I think I left this one feeling less impacted than I expected. The structure and tone shifts made this feel a little too scattered for my taste, like I watched multiple different directors try to tell completely different angles of this story. I still thoroughly enjoyed it, despite all the poker talk going way over my head, but I think it couldβve been told much better than it was.

Bama Rush 2023
This would have been much better as a miniseries because this doc attempts to cover way too many topics and issues in such a short runtime. It felt pretty disjointed and all over the place, and I was left feeling like I learned nothing. I was expecting all the cult vibes! Donβt get me wrong southern rush culture freaks me out still but this didnβt give me anything new. I still think we need an entire doc on The Machine.
