    I have no qualms calling this movie an outstanding modern classic; I respect it more ardently than I do most 21st century cinema. Perhaps that’s due to the age I first saw it, but rewatch after rewatch my admiration hasn’t wavered.

    Screened in the actual Filmhouse cinema on the big screen along with the other New Visions short films selected & nominated at the Edinburgh Film Festival this year - and what a strange & joyous experience. Watching what we made in January over in Leith projected for real was surreal.

    More than half the blokes in the theatre were either talking or on their phone for most of the runtime of the movie, and I really wouldn’t mind if someone Equalized every one of them. 

    I wonder if these people catch any of the irony that as cinemagoers go, they were acting not dissimilarly to the inconsiderate thugs this series so mercilessly punishes every few minutes. Probably not!
