Brian Formo’s review published on Letterboxd:
Our parents had lives before they were parents. And who they were and what they struggled with might surprise. That's the sorcery in The Five Devils, a young girl with intense smell who can boil birds and travel back to when her hot mom-to-be (Adele Exarchopoulos) was involved with the woman who would become her aunt. It's an intriguing concoction that never coalesces — and includes many head scratching strands that feel tacked on from another movie (racist kids, an affair, etc.)
