    “Fear is the mind killer”

It’s not surprising that Dune is even better in IMAX, seeing as that’s what Denis and the gang had in mind when making this film.

The visuals and sound are taken to new heights and amplified greatly, which easily made it my favourite cinema experience ever. As often with any film, whenever you rewatch something you always pick up on new details and touches. But in this case, the IMAX format enabled me to pick on…

“You saved my life. You made it beautiful”

Loved this so much, it’s a triumph in how it shows the struggles and challenges that deaf people have to go through in their day to day lives. The sound design is incredible at making the viewer go through what Ruben does, as you get to hear everything single muffled voice and noise whilst also getting the complete silence too. Riz Ahmed is fantastic in this, I’ve loved him for a while…

More female directors should take on films like this, I thought Jane Campion did an exceptional job at showing toxic masculinity and how it’s amplified in a setting like this. This is my first film of hers that I’ve seen but I can already tell it’s all about the details with her. Nothing is misplaced in this which was really nice to see, you can tell she took a lot of time and care into making this beautiful piece of…

It’s pretty much a heartbreaking horror story that a lot of people will relate to because of the depressing subject matter. It’s confusing but not in a bad way of course, it’s done so us as an audience feel like we’re in Anthony’s shoes as he tries to separate the fantasy and the non-fiction.

I somehow avoided that final scene and I’m glad I…

Bizarre, funny and unique, this is brilliant and it’s so different to anything else that I’ve seen before. The script is one of the best, it manages to mix comedy, fantasy and drama so well together. The first half is a comedy and the second half a drama, and when both parts are put together the end result is fantastic. It’s one of my favourite films already after only one watch, I just loved it so much. Charlie Kaufman sure…
