    Oh the depths we have fallen to. This franchise has come so far, and not in a great way.

    Everything about this is poor. The acting is utterly lacking and one-dimensional with no depth. The story is the most ludicrous (Ludacris?) it has ever been, with stupid action scenes and pathetic and nearly incomprehensible reasons for particular character's presences.

    At this point, I'm far from expecting this franchise to go back to any sort of the grounded roots it originally…

    This film broke me. That rarely happens. This is a truly magnificent effort all around.

    For a bit of context, my grandmother, for the last several years, has been dealing with a sharply worsening case of dementia. During that time our relationship has changed incredibly, as events have transpired that never could have been predicted, and her on most occasions having little to no understanding or recollection of who I am or other minor and major details.

    I had one question on my mind at the conclusion of this film. Was this a conscious/self aware attempt by Hitchcock to release a film that might sabotage his career, and a challenge to see if anybody would care to see any of his films after this? Because that is exactly what it seemed like to me.
