The boys Recommendation series: #12

“They say hell really exists. A hell of fire, a hell of fury, a hell for sinners.”

The opening sequence to this film was amazing. The cinematography and the set design was beautiful. Actually the set design throughout the film was great.

This film captures the coping of two women after losing a husband/son to the war in feudal Japan. The storytelling here is incredible. The atmosphere was created so well, how eerie it felt from the sounds and looks of the tall grass grazing in the wind. The only problem I had myself finding was the pacing. The first half was somewhat boring but severely appreciated. So many great other aspects to this film that I loved.
