Good Luck to You, Leo Grande 2022
First off, really great movie, horrid title.
This is a male version of The Girlfriend Experience but with much more comedy and a bit more “drama”. Emma Thompson is just an amazing actress. She’s totally up there with the best of the best. I grew up in awe of Emma, any movie she did even if was silly like Junior she brings a unique quality to every performance. It’s impressive that Daryl McCormack can hold his own bouncing/reacting off of Thompson. The boy has a future. I love films that are heavy with dialogue and character development. It’s a special film.

Cha Cha Real Smooth 2022
Writer/Director/Star Cooper Raiff follows up Shithouse which I haven’t seen but it’s been on my radar. Cooper is so charming and Dakota is really great here as well. There are some plot points and characters which are predictable and ultimately you kinda know how this ends. It’s still extremely entertaining, funny, and a bit emotional. I’m always on board for Leslie Mann and Vanessa Burghardt is a wonderful addition as well.

I enjoyed Videodrome, Scanners, and The Dead Zone. I loved 90s Cronenberg the most, especially The Naked Lunch, Crash (which I stole from Blockbuster on VHS), and eXistenZ. I liked that he moved into new territory with two horrifically violent mob movies back to back, A History of Violence and the excellent Eastern Promises.…
