Shame

Shame ★★★★½

Director Steve McQueen bravely takes on the taboo subject of sex addiction in this case study of Brandon (Michael Fassbender). Living alone in the city, Brandon is free to indulge in his desires. However, when his sister Sissy (Carey Mulligan) shows up needing a place to stay, her presence complicates things immensely. Dark and captivating, this film truly is an anomaly. I loved McQueen's signature long takes, most notably the restaurant date and the nighttime jog. Incredible film.
