It's hard to give this a starred rating. Ridley Scott's Tough Guys Don't Dance is the best way to describe this Cormac Mccarthy adaptation. Apparently he was there every day on set reveling in it all. I watched the extended cut which was 2 hours and 17 minutes long of poetic chaos. Elevator to the Gallows 1958
Jeanne Moreau in a noir beautifully scored by Miles Davis. At times it's slow building but it never fails to build tension as it progresses. You'll see that pretty much everyone involved has buried themselves in a ditch. Twists are constantly thrown at you while that jazz score just works so good. Check out the bonus feature of Miles improvising with a smoke and his trumpet while he watches the film of Jeanne walking the streets of Paris trying to find her lover at night.

Obviously the gooiest, most horny movie needs to be watched on 4k to get those HDR reds popping as Barbara Crampton gets in her S&M outfit and Ken Foree looks on in the background completely shook. These effects are legendary. Long goopy fingers, ripping the flesh off one's face, demanding wet kisses, and eyeball socket sucking.
