If Stuart Gordon made a feature length Tales From The Crypt episode for Cinemax (instead of HBO) this would be it. Lynch manages to capture elements of what made 90s horror good with this sex demon fueled flick while showing appreciation for the decade while staying original. Graham and Crampton are fabulous.

Back up camera sequence. 5 stars.

Mortician eating in morgue homage. 5 stars.

Very 90s and early 200s slasher-esque for a good portion of the film and even stays true to the cool moments in the faux trailer. Enjoyable and pretty rad that we get a new slasher film in theatres for the holiday.

CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS is such a treat. Bloody neon splattered and and shot on 16mm gloriousness. This was 100% my shit. Also, I was stoked to see some much Vinegar Syndrome stuff hanging out in the background! NEW YORK NINJA even makes an appearance. On top of that, it’s kinda insane to see a small indie like this at my local theatre in my small town. Go see this on the big screen and support indie horror. If we support shit like this - we are going to get more. There’s also a small nod to @terror_vision in there, too!

    Halloween Kills

    Welp, not for me.

This doesn’t feel like a Halloween film at all. There are some incredible kills in it and the flashback stuff is good but it’s such a slog to get through.

I hope people like it though. I want to keep seeing Mikey on the big screen.
