It's a play adapted into a movie & there's a tragic real life tale associated with the writer who also did the screenplay.
It was also a freebie for ACMI members to preview the forthcoming Russian Resurrection Film Festival.
I can only advise to read the Movie blurb very carefully (& twice!) before deciding anything - I lasted 75 of its 93 minutes screening time & only after then rereading that blurb, did I see all my film Red Flags surreptitiously within (except for it being a musical).
