Though John Saxon receives top billing in this 1962 war film, it's probably most memorable as Robert Redford's first big screen appearance. He plays a fresh replacement who arrives at a weary front line unit in Korea that's nervously waiting the anticipated truce. He soon comes into conflict with a psychotic soldier (Saxon) who engages in unauthorized solo night missions and clearly is not ready for the war to end.
