Lonestar: Stevie Ray Vaughan 1984-1989

Lonestar: Stevie Ray Vaughan 1984-1989 ★★★

This is a strong work overall on the recording years of Vaughn and his band. The albums are covered pretty well, with quality of songs and recordings from those who knew and followed them. Good insight on him as a person beyond the musician/performer. There's stuff I had no idea about, like the young girlfriend from Australia.
He was a phenomenal musician who made quality albums and was a brilliant flash of pure electric on stage.
Nice work, but some notches off for the wrongheaded bellyaching and knocking of Soul To Soul. It's better than at least two of their other albums, imo. 3.2 stars
