Definitely not as good as I remember it but still a fun time and Melissa McCarthy is always good no matter the movie!

Happy 10 Years (and one day!) to one of the greatest mystery/thriller movies of all time—and the first R-rated movie I ever saw in theaters!!!

Just unbelievably good. One of my all-time favorite thrillers because of how flawlessly it all plays out—between Aaron Guzikowski‘s razor-sharp twisty script, the chilly cinematography from the GOAT Sir Roger Deakins, Jóhann Jóhannsson’s unsettling score, outstanding performances from quite literally everyone but Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal in particular (both are on completely different levels here) and…

Incoherent, inconsistent and incredibly sloppy with a script filled with nothing but tiktok buzzwords and some atrocious acting (Myha’la Herrold and Rachel Sennott’s comedic timing innocent) to round out this horrible excuse of “whodunnit” movie—complete with the worst “plot twist” I’ve ever seen. YIKES YIKES YIKES!!!!!

As the great Spike Lee once said: “it wasn’t my cup of tea!” and I’ll leave it at that!

But hey, at least we got another fantastic addition to the Molly Gordon iconic one-liners list! And my goodness did Ayo and Alan Kim absolutely steal the whole show with their single scene together!

  • The Boss

    The Boss

    ★★½

Not nearly as funny as I remember it being back in the day but still not a terrible time! It’s not awful but it’s definitely the weakest of Melissa McCarthy’s string of comedy movies from the mid ‘10s!

Yeah idc this was a fun time!!!!! It’s a vast, VAST improvement over the first one in nearly every aspect! The scares were great and the cinematography was fantastic as always and that score is so so eerie and chilling!!! Taissa Farmiga was utterly phenomenal and Storm Reid turned in a great supporting performance!

The primary difference between this and the first chapter is the story. Akela Cooper hit it out of the park once again and proved she’s definitely…

Happy 20th Letterboxd log to the greatest movie of all time (I have undoubtedly seen this at least forty times in the years before I started this account)!!!!!

This was so bad it made me go back and up the last one to a full star. I can’t believe Zazie Beetz and Danny Ramirez were wasted on the worst episode of the entire series Charlie put that pen DOWN.

    “Malibu Barbie’s not pretty?”

A claustrophobically chaotic, uncomfortable and anxiety-inducing time that tightens with every passing minute and also feels like the fastest movie I ever watched! Emma Seligman you are truly so unbelievably talented!!! And now I’m gonna need you to go full horror because this was INSANELY good!!!

  • Black Mirror: Beyond the Sea

    Black Mirror: Beyond the Sea

Pointlessly lame and unduly long where the “technology bad” mentality of the series takes the back seat YET AGAIN. It would’ve been so much more interesting to learn how and why they were up there (or why such technology existed in the late 60s??) but we instead got a drawn-out drama that has one of the stupidest and predictable final moment of the entire series before just…ending and providing no further explanation to ANYTHING.

Another miss here. This season really isn’t…
