Not as effective or memorable as 10 Cloverfield Lane, but it's a fun ride! It's good to see Trachtenberg's still got it. The English dialogue really took me out in the first 5 mins and so I switched to the Comanche dub w/subs - which I enjoyed way more. Such a gorgeous-looking movie with a beating heart; it would've killed in theaters. One of my favorite things about Trachtenberg is the way he takes simple action movie premises and makes them truly atmospheric and full of charisma. the sound design rules, the locations rule, the score rules, the practical FX (and the VFX!) rule...my eyes and ears had a great time.
