Ashitaka, first reformed: 'Can the kami forgive us for what we've done to this world?'

Didn't mean to rewatch this so soon but it was showing in theaters and a friend invited me. For me, I think I just enjoy this better theatrically, because this was more or less the same impression I had the second to last time I saw it, also theatrically. The sound and visuals are simply overwhelming when so heightened, and the intricacies of the images pop. What still really sells this thing to me is the deep pathos it draws for its characters, though not all are so nuanced. At its core this is an angry film, but every painstaking scintilla of it was a labor of love, and I'm almost 100% on that wavelength when I watch it.
