Brandon Streussnig’s review published on Letterboxd:
Wild, wild shit. About as close to a live action representation of anime as I think I’ve ever seen despite being a wholly original idea (although the main guy and his robot have a real Booster Gold and Skeets vibe but I’m likely the only loser who thought that tbh). I don’t know if I really loved this but it’s so go for broke nuts combining wire work fights, high fantasy and modern sci-fi that it’s hard not to be on board through most of it. Its sense of scope and world building is truly, impressively head spinning. I’ll be there for next year’s sequel, no question.
