Still one of the best adventure films out there. Classic Indy never gets old. And I'll never get tired of it. It's peak Spielberg and peak cinena at its most thrilling, most fun and most entertaining best. Ford is iconic. Always a pleasure to revisit a favorite and re-experience that exact same feeling that I had upon first watch. Indiana Jones made for one of those sparks that contributed to the film obsession that I now still carry with me.…

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 1984
No matter how often I'm watching it, it remains a spectacularly gross and exciting thrillride from start to finish, and (aside from Poltergeist, which we now know is directed by Spielberg) it's the closest Spielberg ever got to making a horror movie. We got voodoo, deathly rituals, enslaved children, terrifying cult leaders and a malicious trance and once we got through this bonkers and impressive chain of occult madness, we got treated with what remains one of the most spectacular…

Bob le Flambeur 1956
Clever and with a keen eye for character driven entertainment, Bob le flambeur is charming, flamboyant and funny from start to finish. There is a wildly enjoyable slickness to the style, and the characters are strongly developed through dialogue and it's all unpredictable and very romantic also. Nobody will see the ending coming and it's really quite brilliant. This was my first Melville and I already feel like wanting more.

Klute 1971
A very balanced, very restrained portrayal of an uncommon relationship of two endlessly intriguing characters. Jane Fonda and Donald Sutherland are compelling. It's well written and nuanced. It's perfectly paced, deliberately shot and it's satisfyingly structured. And beautiful to look at, with its minimalist, yet gorgeous outlook and its meticulously designed imagery. I especially loved the color schemes here. It's a film in which the technical craft is impressive, in which its rich thematics are strongly developed and where writing, style and acting are merged into a perfectly finetuned whole untill the outstanding and intense finale.

Dune 2021
Not since a certain trilogy about a certain ring we've witnessed a vision as grand as Denis Villeneuve's Dune. Another story that was said to be unfilmable due to its massive scope and enormous worldbuilding. Now, the most ambitious director working in Hollywood today, pushed bounderies, reached to the sky and beyond to create a grand, in surreality drenched adventure that is, in the first place, overwhelming. Every single image, every single setpiece, every single costume and every single tune…
