What a fucking debut. Damn…reminds me of how much I think about him all the time but we both moved on years ago. Still, it’s tough thinking about what could have been if we had stayed together. But he needed to move…because that’s him.

I enjoyed this so much. The music, the acting (the main three were so good and I hope they all get an Oscar nod), production design was aesthetically pleasing, and of course the story - a bit depressing but more heartwarming than anything. I think I like depressing movies like this for the same reason I love sad songs: it helps us to feel less lonely.

I enjoyed the last half more than the first. I actually almost turned this off last night but since it’s part of the Criterion Challenge I’m doing this year, I wanted to finish it. Glad I did because I really liked that ending. Another don’t have kids movie.

Beautiful story but the ending was so damn dark; I did not see it coming so it felt like a punch to the gut. I love the themes here of grief, loneliness, and love, but also missed opportunity and how loneliness affects the way our mind works when that happens. I think that’s what got me more than…

This was way better than the 2013 Evil Dead. It was fun and bloody but I do wish they turned up the camp a bit more. Still, this was a nice surprise. And that title drop? YESSSS 😍
