    Come True

What an unsettling little film. I loved Anthony Scott Burns' previous feature, OUR HOUSE, and his follow-up proves he's one of the best genre filmmakers working right now. COME TRUE takes the documentary THE NIGHTMARE and turns it into a horrifying narrative tale that sends shivers down the spine and features one of the most effective endings I've seen from a horror film in ages. I never quite knew where this movie was headed, and that surprised me. The first truly great horror film of 2020, from Leigh Whannell.

    The Little Things

THE LITTLE THINGS is just crying out for a flourish. Somewhere. Anywhere. A spark of SOMETHING to let us know the folks involved had at least some interest in producing an engaging, entertaining thriller. As it stands, the film seems like the folks who made it were forced to do so at gunpoint, going through the motions as best they could. John Lee Hancock, who wrote and directed the film, is not known for his visual style. He makes serviceable,…
