Cooper Raiff really needs to understand the limitations of his likability. For starters, you're either on board with this millennial energy or you're not. I, most decidedly, am not. He trots around this film exposing an ego that his career and talents certainly have yet to earn.

The Lost City 2022
Yes, this flick was fun. A nice throwback to the old adventure films, and major "Romancing the Stone" vibes. So much of this was pleasant and fun and enjoyable...but just barely. It doesn't really do anything more than is expected, and while that can still be refreshing after a long absence, I feel like we should have expected more.
Sandra Bullock is 100% doing what Sandra Bullock does in every film like this. No more. No less. Channing Tatum isβ¦

Spider-Man: No Way Home 2021
I don't want to be too bombastic and say it's the greatest superhero film I've ever seen, or even the best Spider-Man film I've ever seen. Too soon. I'll give it some time. But, right now, it's both my favorite Spider-Man film AND the best superhero movie I've ever seen. It gets SO much right and really undoes a lot of past mistakes, and offers redemption to characters we grew up adoring. It's a big beautiful ball of cinematic bliss and I was smiling and/or crying throughout.

Scream 2022
While its heart is in the right place (and that goes a long way), I don't know where in the hell its brain is. Yes, SCREAM films have always relied on a certain amount of nonsensical and illogical actions, but this movie takes that to an entirely different (and frustrating) level. That said, the new cast and legacy cast make this one hell of a fun ride, while maybe not quite as 'modern' as it wants to be. The killsβ¦
