It's been a while since a movie has put me on edge quite as much as Boiling Point did. There's tension in the air pretty much right from the opening moments, with numerous different threads scattered throughout, each tugging away the longer it goes on. The "one take" conceit just adds to the stress levels as well, almost like you can't escape the confined setting of the restaurant. Needless to say, Stephen Graham is in typically fine form as the put upon chef with a LOT on his plate, but the rest of the cast is very strong as well. Some elements seemed a little superfluous, not really going anywhere or having any sense of resolution, but I guess not everything needs to be wrapped up in a neat little bow. Either way, after watching this, I have zero desire to ever work in the restaurant industry!
